Which African countries have the highest life expectancy at birth by gender, for countries and regions?

Overall, women have a higher life expectancy than men in Africa for all regions. Female life expectancy in North Africa is the highest at 72.4, followed by East Africa (62.2), Southern Africa (59) and Central Africa (57). West Africa has the lowest average life expectancy of all regions, at 55.6. The three African countries with the lowest life expectancy for women are Swaziland (48.5), Lesotho (49.6) and Sierra Leone (50.7).
